The European Laboratory for Structural Assessment (ELSA) is specialized in the vulnerability assessment of buildings and civil structures for risk mitigation under natural hazards and intentional attacks such as earthquakes and explosions. Its reaction wall facility is unique in Europe, and its scientific team develops assessment methodologies based on integrated use of experimental testing and numerical techniques. Part of its mission is to contribute to European Standards harmonization in construction (Eurocodes).
