How to apply
Before applying, please read the rules governing the JRC Grantholder scheme, Vademecum for Grantholders (en or it) and draft Employment Contract under Italian Employment Law (en or it). You can find this information under above-mentioned link. Please note that the contract to be signed by the successful applicant will be in Italian. The English version of the draft grantholder contract is a certified version of the Italian original. Note that specific circumstances for derogation in the sequence of grantholder contracts exist.

Due to the launch of new external staff recruitment application tool (ESRA) there will be a transitional period:
- Applications with all necessary attachments for grantholder calls launched before 01/09/2011 should be sent only in response to the published vacancy, received not later than the deadline stated below the call reference number in the vacancy text and addressed to:
- JRC-IPSC-GRANTHOLDERS@ec.europa.eu (for grantholder positions)
- Applications for grantholder calls launched after 01/09/2011 need to be completed on ESRA online application tool (http://recruitment.jrc.ec.europa.eu/).

Please note
Concerning the professional experience, any given period may be counted only once (in order to be calculated as eligible, years of studies - if applicable - or professional experience to be taken into account shall not overlap with other period of studies of professional experience). Professional activities pursued part-time will be calculated pro-rata on the basis of the certified percentage of full-time hours worked.
Categories of Grantholders
- Category 20. Ph.D. students (duration 12-36 months)
- Category 30. Post-Doc researchers (duration 12-36 months)
- Category 40. Senior scientists (duration 3-24 months)
Approximate time schedule
Depending on the total number of candidates, the selection procedure should take approximately 8-10 weeks from the closing date announced in the call.
The status of the call will be always visible next to the name of the call.
